The organizers of this year’s Summerfolk festival say they’re having pretty good results in contacting volunteers and performers after the listeriosis outbreak in Ontario.
As we told you last week, volunteers and performers at the Owen Sound event were exposed to two of the recalled products at their hospitality location after the event.
Georgian Bay Folk Society President Brenda Scott says they’ve been able to contact most of them through emails and she hopes the media blitz following the event also helped.
She’s quick to add the black forest ham and turkey slices were not served to any members of the public.
Scott says those are the only two products on the list… none of the other food served at the hotel is suspect.
She says so far they’ve had no reports of illness related to the event but with the 70 day incubation period for the bacteria, that could change.
