The cash is earmarked for infrastructure and was announced yesterday at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference.
Mike Smith says the buzz surrounding the funding is constant at the meeting.
Smith says they made a list of needs during budget talks; council will look at those needs and priorities, and go from there.
Some examples include waste water treatment, or roads, and sewers.
Smith says there is also encouraging news surrounding the Alvanley intersection at Highway 21 and the Grey Bruce Line.
He says Bruce County Warden Ron Oswald met with the Minister of Transport, Jim Bradley, where he heard the province is interested in doing an analysis of the site.
Smith also says it’s encouraging to see how “green” AMO is becoming.
He says there is new software available to municipalities that goes beyond the recent energy audit done in Saugeen Shores to determine further ways to reduce energy consumption.
The conference wraps up Wednesday.
