The victim was first identified as 41 year old David James of Innisfil.
But police today say the victim was 41 year old Alan David James of Cambridge.
James was involved in a head on crash with another vehicle on Highway 6 north of Durham early Saturday morning and walked out of his car.
But he was then hit by a passing transport truck and died instantly.
The driver of the other car, 21 year old Andrew Myatt of Port Elgin, sustained less serious injuries.
Police do not expect to lay any charges.
