Co-Owner of Simpson’s Fine Clothing, Betty Simpson says, she and her husband Tim have bought the store beside them on Goderich street, (the old Dollar Dollar Dollar Store).
Simpson says the plan has been eight years in the works in their minds; until now, the location in question has been occupied.
Simpson says they will be knocking down the wall between the two side by side locations, and will gain an additional 2 thousand square feet, for a total of 37 hundred.
She says they will be able to carry more items for men and women; with a bigger emphasis on men.
Simpson says they have found, as of late, their male clientel is looking for a bigger variety of “smart looking clothing”, to get away from the jeans and t-shirt look.
She says they will make both stores look the same, meaning renovations outside and inside.
Co-Manager, Melissa Simpson, is Betty’s daughter.
She is excited about the expansion, and plans to continue in her parent’s footsteps in keeping up the store.
Renovations should be complete, with shoppers able to access the other side, in February of next year. (2009)
The Simpson’s opened the store in 2000 on Goderich Street; they also own Casual Corners, located across the street.
