By all accounts, Southampton’s 150th anniversary celebrations this past weekend were incredible.
Event co-ordinator Brenda Barringer says one of the highlights was the parade on Saturday.
Barringer says however, that is the one area, that also caused some troubles.
She says they didn’t have enough people manning all barriers, and the barriers on the roads were not doubled up; consequently, they were moved, and people and cars got through.
While no official numbers area available, Barringer says most events were sold out, including the dance.
Barringer hopes to hold a special dinner for the committee members; some of whom have been collaborating ideas since 2004.
Barringer thanks and commends the entire community on a job well done.
