There is no relief in sight for paid parking for the rest of the summer season in Sauble Beach.
That means the 10 dollar flat rate will stay in effect.
Councillor Mark Wunderlich put forward a motion to have paid parking along Lakeshore Boulevard in Sauble Beach waived on Sunday’s.
The motion was returned back as is, at the South Bruce Peninsula Council meeting last night by all Councillors except for Wunderlich and Councillor Anna Vukovic.
Councillor Art King says he did not support the motion because there is free parking on the main street.
King says there is not enough free parking available because the merchants of the downtown stores use all of the free parking spaces.
King made the recommendation to have the merchants park wherever they want, and leave free parking to the visitors of Sauble Beach.
Councillor Wunderlich says he feels pretty bad about the summer season, but he still has hope for change next summer.
Mayor Gwen Gilbert says the paid parking committee will evaluate the 2008 summer season on September 25th.
She says the committee will make any recommendations or suggestions.
