Could your dog or cat be the next Clay Aiken of the pet world?
You’ll be able to find out as the Beautiful Joe Heritage Society holds its Canadian Pet Idol contest tomorrow.
Organizer Annie Turner says it’s part of the 100th anniversary celebrations for the Meaford Hall.
Turner says there are four categories for entry –they include “best dancer”, “best singer”, “best acrobat” and “best dressed”.
And, Turner says they’re not just limited to dogs and cats.
She says they’ll take just about any animal except for horses and elephants.
The Pet Idol competition will begin at Noon tomorrow at Meaford’s Market Square.
Other celebrations planned for Meaford Hall’s 100th anniversary include art shows and vaudeville shows as well as a boat race.
There is also a Saturday night street concert with Kim Mitchell and a Sunday night concert inside Meaford Hall with the Cowboy Junkies.
Lieutenant Governor David Onley will also be on hand tomorrow morning.
