Shih-tzus and Schnauzers and Pugs, oh my!
These are just a few breeds of dogs being shown off in Owen Sound’s Harrison Park.
The Grey-Bruce Kennel & Obedience Club wraps up the third and final day of their annual dog show today.
Show Chairperson Ron McCartney says there’s probably 180 different breeds of dogs in the park this week, and there are 12 more dogs in the show this year than last year.
McCartney says it’s encouraging as most shows are attracting less people, because of the high cost of gas.
He says a lot of people tell him that of all the parks they show in across Ontario, Harrison Park is their favourite park to come to.
McCartney adds the show creates good economic spinoff for the city, as many will stay a few days longer than the show to go camping and spend time around the area.
McCartney says the show draws people from right across the province.
He says they come from as far north as Sault Ste. Marie, and as far south as the border, with one man who has come from Florida for the past four years.
The show wraps up today around 4PM.
