The people who helped Saugeen Shores with their organizational review will be doing the same for South Bruce.
Council agreed to a recommendation from Administrator David Johnston last night to hire consultants Bill Winegard and Hans Muntz to do the work for around twenty thousand dollars.
Johnston says the Municipality needed someone from the outside to check and see whether the work they were doing was efficient.
He says the work Winegard and Muntz did for Saugeen Shores was excellent and the two will look at the general organization and see what is best for South Bruce.
Johnston says there will be a situation where the Municipality will have to replace some of their older staff including himself.
He says he plans on retiring with a full pension next year after working 30 years under various municipal governments.
He also says his health problems are another reason that his is considering retiring.
Johnston says they may have to move staff around or bring in new people but they will have to do it within a certain limit.
He says two-thirds of the Municipality is made up of rural lands and they don’t get full taxation.
He says they have to look at providing value for the tax dollar but there are certain things that have a threshold and can’t be reduced.
The Municipality had already completed a pay equity and employment reviews.
