Cabs from ABC Taxi in Kincardine are no longer on the streets.
The Kincardine Police Services Board has suspended the licence of ABC Taxi company for 30 days.
That is because the operator — 37 year old Stephen Ellis — has been charged with five drug related offences, including possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The charges stem from a raid by South Bruce OPP and the OPP drug squad last month (July 17) at the ABC office and one of the cabs.
Officers seized 47 thousand dollars worth of drugs from the home and the car — including crack cocaine, marijuana, cannabis and oxycontin.
Police say they also found a substantial amount of money as well as a client list.
Police Board Chair Bob Wilson says they have called a hearing for August 12th.
Wilson says Ellis has been invited to plead his case as to why his taxi licence should be returned.
