A new mobile speed signboard was unveiled at the Kincardine Municipal Office last week.
The signboard was purchased by the Kincardine Police Services Board and will be used throughout the municipality to assist police with public safety.
Detachment Commander Inspector Paul Holmes says the signboard is a valuable tool that heightens driver awareness to the operation of their vehicles.
The mobile speed signboard is equipped with a digital recording device that will allow police to see if there is a pattern relating to speeding traffic.
The data will give them the time of day, the number of vehicles exceeding the speed limit and their speed.
That will allow them to deploy resources to take enforcement action at the times identified when a majority of the speeders are present.
South Bruce OPP will be able to provide feedback to citizens if they have raised concerns and the data doesn’t support their concerns.”
The signboard was deployed over the weekend on Main Street in Tiverton.
