The Town of South Bruce Peninsula wants an investigation of the Sauble Beach Family Health Team.
Mayor Gwen Gilbert — in a news release — says Council is concerned about the current operations of the Board of Directors.
Council has asked the Ministry of Health to investigate the Family Health Team.
The main concern has to do with the VON and its election of the Chair and Vice Chair of the Board even though the Ministry advised not to proceed with the elections.
A letter to the Ministry also states the VON provided false information to a newly recruited doctor and it has caused a substantial loss of revenue.
There is a serious concern Doctor Shazia Ambreen will leave the community if the current Chair and Vice Chair remain in control.
Meanwhile, a seperate group continues to raise money for the proposed medical clinic and the town has donated land for the clinic.
