Skate Park Committee President Dave Butcher says following four years of ideas, paper work, fundraising and construction they are proud to show it off.
It’s located at property behind the police station in Port Elgin.
Butcher says celebrations will include a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 tomorrow morning followed by unrestricted and unlimited use of the park, music, and a BBQ lunch.
Butcher says it will be mandatory that everyone using the skate park during the grand opening wear a helmet.
He says however, it will be up to the individual to protect themselves on their own after that, as the park will not be monitored.
Butcher says they still have 50 thousand dollars to raise, in the total 325 thousand dollar project.
He says while they will continue with staple fundraisers like Pumpkinfest paintball, they hope to also raise money through competitons at the park.
Eventually, additions will be made including benches and picnic tables.
