Environment Canada climatologist Dave Phillips tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that for June and July this area of Bruce and Grey has received about 40 per cent more rain that normal.
He says this area has received about 180 millimetres of rain so far in June and July when the normal for this time of year is about 125 millimetres.
Phillips says while its been a wetter than normal summer, temperature wise it has been a bit warmer than normal.
He says June was about one and a half degrees warmer than normal and July so far has been about half a degree warmer than normal.
However because of the cloudy conditions and the rain, it has felt a little cooler than it actually was.
Phillips says looking ahead, August could be the best time to take your summer vacation in the Lake Huron Georgian Bay area because it will be warmer and dryer than normal.
