West Grey Fire Chief Phil Schwartz says about 90 thousand dollars in damage was done to the Highway 6 home on Monday night.
He says the home was up for sale and empty and as a result no one was hurt.
The blaze started in a ground floor front room.
Chief Schwartz says the cause is ‘suspicious in nature’ and is under investigation by West Grey Fire and the Fire Marshall’s Office.
