Wilkins was crowned Ontario Little Miss Midwest Princess at the annual pageant held in Walkerton on the weekend.
This was her third time competing and Wilkins she was surprised to be chosen out of 12 girls.
But Wilkins says she wasn’t nervous because of her experience.
Wilkins says she entered the competition to be a role model for others and she also wanted to represent Ontario in other events.
Wilkins wrote a speech about how she would like to be a doctor to help save lives.
She also answered a number of questions from the judges.
Wilkins and the Miss Midwest Queen – Alicia Lockie of Listowel — now have a busy schedule for next year.
They will attend a number of events in Grey, Bruce, Huron and Wellington Counties — including the International Plowing Match and the Wiarton Willie Festival.
