Applications are flying into Transcontinental RBW Graphics as the company adds 100 new workers by the fall.
The Owen Sound based firm recently won a 6 year, $210 million contract with Rogers to handle printing of some 60 business, consumer and professional magazines including Maclean’s and Chatelaine.
Senior Vice President Brian Reid says initially, they were not sure how many jobs would be created but have now finalized plans with Rogers.
Reid says applications have been coming in since they announced the new contract and they don’t expect the recruitment to be finished until September or October.
Transcontinental RBW is in the process of adding 62,000 square feet to the plant and once up the plant will be nearly 400,000 square feet in size.
The company is spending close to $25 million on the addition and state of the art equipment that will be installed in the fall.
RBW has about 625 workers now, so the workforce will grow to 725 once the addition is done and the new production work starts.
