Volunteers are being sought to help clean up the Saugeen Shores Dog Park before they open it.
Paws Awhile Dog Park Spokesperson Abby Bolton says the committee is having a Work Like a Dog work bee tomorrow afternoon from 1 until 4.
Bolton says everyone is invited to come down and bring family and friends to help remove garbage and refuse.
She says there is some things like pieces of metal stuck in the ground that need to be pulled and plastic bags to be picked up.
She says they need to go over the park with a fine-tooth comb and the more people that show up, the less time it will take to clean it up.
Bolton says while humans are welcomed, dogs should be left home because the rest of the fencing lies in a low-lying area and has not been put up.
She says there is still 315 feet of fencing that needs to be installed and hopes to get it up by the end of the week if the weather holds.
Anyone interested in helping out can come out to the Saugeen Shores Dog Park located at the former Port Elgin landfill site.
