It’s back to work today for some of the 27 office and clerical staff at the Grey Bruce Health Unit.
The workers in Owen Sound and Walkerton spent more than 10 weeks on the picket line before finalizing a new 3 year contract.
The workers voted 82 per cent in favour of the deal — which calls for a 10.6 per cent wage hike over the 3 years.
The Board of Health unanimously supported the new agreement.
Officials say all of the workers will be back on the job by August 5th.
But the Health Unit is poised to begin another round of contract negotiations.
44 full and part time public health nurses have been without a contract since December 31st.
Both sides will meet with conciliator next Friday.
Wages and benefits are the main issues.
