Prices are now set for doctors to practice in the new Port Elgin Medical Clinic.
A recommendation by Saugeen Shores Treasurer Lori Sweiger was accepted by Council Monday night that would see the lease rate set at $12 a square foot or $1,245.00 a month.
The lease price includes the use and maintenance of the common staff area, public restrooms, and showers.
Town CAO Ron Brown says the doctors will rent space from them and hire their own staff.
He says unlike the Southampton clinic, the Town will act just as the landlord and it will be an easier system for them to handle.
Brown says the renovations to the clinic are about 60% complete with the exterior to be finished by late summer.
He says there are three existing doctors plus the newly acquired husband and wife team from British Columbia that will set up practice at the new clinic in early August.
He says there is enough space in the clinic to accommodate four more doctors in the future.
The new one-million-dollar clinic is located on the west side of Goderich Street north of Market Street.
