The 13th Annual Jeff Preston Celebrity Golf Tournament will once again be a hit.
It takes place at the Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin, where proceeds benefit Muscular Dystrophy Research.
Chair Peter Eudoxy says the event is already sold out.
It is being held this Friday, July 18th at 11am. Eudoxy says a wine and cheese reception, along with a silent auction was held last night.
Eudoxy says Port Elgin Native Brett MacLean will be among the celebrity golfers at the event, so will the CAW’s Buzz Hargrove.
A celebrity is assigned to each 4 person scramble.
He says while they don’t set a goal, typically for the last 5 years or so, they have managed to raise 35 to 40 thousand dollars with the event.
In total, more than 935 thousand dollars in funds and matching grants has been donated.
Jeff was the poster child of the Muscular Dystrophy Society when the event got started 13 years ago.
Bayshore Broadcasting’s own Fred Wallace is the M.C for the event.
