A handful of goals will be given top priority by Grey county staff over the next few months, as they address issues important to county councillors.
Those goals were determined at a recent 2-day strategic think session put on by CAO Gary Wood.
Wood says at least 9 of the 19 councillors listed six priorities as being very important to them.
Those include a review of the county’s role in waste management, a review of the core services offered by Grey county…. and establishing a “green lens” for county policies.
Wood says that “Green lens” means a shift in thinking toward the green movement … and that could mean an idling policy for County vehicles.
Over the next few months, the six top priorities identified at the session will be examined and worked on by county staff, with reports back to council for further direction.
Wood says the county does not have an official strategic plan in place, and this is a step towards getting one in the future.
