The city is looking to establish an annual Owen Sound Arts Awards program.
The awards proposal is an iniative from city’s cultural master plan and would recognize the achievements of Owen Sound artists, cultural workers and groups.
The city’s Cultural Advisory Committee is requesting submissions from local artists to design an original work that can be produced for use as an award.
Submissions can range from a small sculputure, plaque, jewelry, a print or wood carving.
A jury made up of one artist/designer, a community member and a member of the city’s Cultural Advisory Committee will judge the art submissions.
Submissions must include a preliminary sketch of the work, a description of the materials and design concept and must have an Owen Sound theme.
The submissions must be submitted to the Arts Awards Design Competition at city hall by September 19th.
