Despite the wet weather, work on the Paisley Medical Clinic is going as planned.
Paisley Health Team Chair Dale Steinhoff says they were hoping to get construction started in March but had to push it back to about late April.
He says construction right now is going to smoothly and is quite pleased with the progress.
He says the site — at the intersection of Victoria and Balaclava Streets just west of Bruce Road 3 — is proven to be a good location and hopes work will continue on.
Steinhoff says the fundraising effort is around $350,000 but would like to raise another $10,000 to $15,000 more.
He says they have a considerable amount of landscaping to do and it is going to take that amount of money to get it done.
Steinhoff says he is optimistic that the clinic will open as early as the Labour Day weekend.
He says it would be a bonus for the community to get the clinic up and running as soon as possible since the Brockton Family Health Team is growing on an ongoing basis.
