Kincardine will play host to thousands of visitors from around the world at the 9th Annual Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games.
The three-day event begins today.
Appearing on Soundingboard, Festival Coordinator Sherilyn Dudgeon says over twenty-five Pipe Bands, two hundred Highland Dancers and top-notch Celtic performers will be on hand.
Music competitions will be held at Victoria Park throughout the weekend.
Dudgeon says the competition circuit for the heavy events will also be a highlight of the weekend.
One of the competitors is Warren Trask, four-time Canadian caber toss champion.
He says the competition circuit will feature primarily Ontario athletes and will be more interactive with the audience than last year’s World Championships held in Kincardine.
The heavy events take place at St. Anthony’s School in Kincardine all day tomorrow.
There will also be two parades on tomorrow, one at 11am and the other the traditional Saturday night Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band Parade, along Queen Street.
98 the Beach is one of the media sponsors of the Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games.
