The Historic Queen Street Project will feature over 30 of the eventual 70 high-quality display boards highlighting the history of businesses in downtown Kincardine.
Marilyn Clarke — a Director with the Paddy Walker Heritage Society and Program Chair — says she is excited about the project as it will be an opportunity for people to learn about the background of each store.
Clarke says they went back to trace as many current and former Kincardine business owners as they could.
She says it was quite a project with a lot of misinformation around so they had to do some research on each store and the history behind it.
Clarke says Bill and Marlene Pace have been working on the project as was Steve Murray of Kincardine’s Economic Development and Tourism Department.
She says all three will be at the event to introduce each display board and answer questions.
With the upcoming Boys and Girls Reunion, Clarke says a lot of former Kincardine residents will be interested in reading the plaques.
The event goes tonight starting at 7 and admission is free.
