Construction and traffic light replacement between 1st Avenue West and 4th Avenue West means traffic tie ups and delays until the end of September.
City Engineering Technologist Peter Paquette says its a three stage project that will see the replacement of traffic lights and under ground sensors, upgrades to intersections and repaving of the road.
He says there will be lane reductions and that is going to cause traffic back ups from time to time.
However to try and reduce the amount of frustration motorists will experience, he says the contractor will limit construction between the hours of 9 am and 3pm and not work during peak periods if they can.
Paquette says eventually when the work is completed in the fall, there will be better traffic flow along 10th Street West.
However he says because of the volume of traffic on 10th Street., up to 20 thousand cars a day, there always will be back ups and delays during peak hours on the east section of the street.
