Randall Kahgee has been returned as chief of the Saugeen First Nation.
He received 365 votes in yesterdays band elections to defeat challenger Gayle Mason who received 92 votes.
Kahgee says he’s happy to be re-elected for another term because there is a lot of work to do.
He says he’s very encouraged by the future for Saugeen First Nation.
He says there will be challenges but they will be met and solved by the community as a whole.
Nine people also elected to the band council including Randy Roote as the head councillor.
Also Elected, Clint Roote, Anthony Kahgee, Theresa Root, Henry Allan Mason, Emmerson Bryan Johnson, Lorne Mandawoud, Lester Anoquot and Jim Ricthie.
In total 470 votes were cast in yesterdays election.
