Asa John (A-J) Forrester received a conditional sentence yesterday of two years less a day — which allows him out of the house only to go to work, church or visit family.
He must also peform 200 hours of community service and a three year probation term will follow.
Justice R.M Thompson handed down the sentence order after Forrester pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of manslaughter in March.
Forrester was initially charged with second degree murder after his 18 year old brother John Forrester was stabbed and died last July.
Court heard the incident came as a result of an alcohol fueled fight during a party at the family home on Concession Five in Kincardine Township while the parents were away.
