Talking a walk in Hanover tomorrow will provide you with more than good exercise.
It also will help feed, educate and care for 32 children in a small village in Zimbabwe.
The Zimbabwe 2008 project holding a fund raising walk to raise money to support their Village of Hope in that strife torn country.
Barry Mutrie is the Team Leader for this years project and says money raised from the walk will help build homes for HIV orphans, hire teachers for the new school and help feed and care for the children.
He says so far they have raised more than $30,000 for the project and hope the fundraising walk will bring a lot more money to help the children of the Village of Hope.
Mutrie says in September 12 members of the team will travel to Zimbabwe to work with the people of the village to construct new homes and provide education food and medical care as well.
The Walk for Hope begins at 10 a.m at Hanover’s Pentecostal Church and extends for about 10 km along the community trails in the town.
Mutrie says there is a shorter 5 km route for people who may find the longer route too difficult.
