Mike Dunlop has been serving as the town’s acting CAO since Bill Roberts stepped down January 22nd.
At that time, Roberts had a closed door session with council, and Mayor Kathi Maskell says his employment contract was terminated.
The town appointed Dunlop, then Director of Parks and Recreation, to the Acting CAO position.
Last night council approved Dunlop as their official CAO.
Mayor Maskell says the town appreciates the hard work Dunlop has done, and council is confident he can lead them into the future.
Dunlop says he’s still on a steep learning curve, and now he’s certainly more aware of challenges the town will face in the future.
And he says the difference is that now he has to realize problems that will come up 10 or 15 years down the road.
Dunlop says it’s a big transition, and adds it’s a huge privelege to be able to serve the community from a different seat.
He says the one thing that will remain the same is getting to work with a great council and staff.
