There will be some expansion to the Georgian Bluffs municipal building.
CAO Bill White says they’re in the very early stages of planning, and if any construction happens it won’t be until later this year.
White says the municipal office is experiencing some growth in staff, and they need more space for extra meeting rooms, as well as “effective” council chambers.
White says there are some staff working in a trailer parked behind the building.
He says they aren’t increasing the amount of staff in the near future, but workloads have increased mainly due to dealing with building permits for the Cobble Beach development.
He says they also need to look at making the building more wheelchair accessible, and accomodate more information technology.
White says they’re still in the very early design stages.
Council has a $200,000 preliminary budget set aside for the work done in this fiscal year.
