If you’re going to walk, you might as well walk for diabetes.
There will be a walk today at Harrison Park in Owen Sound to raise money for Type One diabetes.
Registration for the walk starts at 9 AM with the walk getting under way at 10 AM.
The Youth Diabetes Ambassader for the Owen Sound Area, Lacey Mooney says diabetes takes away a person’s freedom more than anything else.
Both Mooney and her brother have Type One diabetes.
All money raised at the walk will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Mooney says the walk is four kilometres long, with shorter routes available if necessary.
Snacks and water will be provided.
You can register as a participant online and print out a pledge sheet at www.jdrf.ca/walk.
