The next step in the process of shoring up the Neustadt sewage Lagoons is expected to come today.
West Grey Mayor Kevin Eccles says they’re opening the nine bids and hope they’re in the neighbourhood of the estimated 2.2 to 2.5 million dollars.
The price tag for solving the erosion problem around the lagoons on the South Saugeen River will be split three ways between the federal, provincial and municipal governments.
Eccles says they’ve also managed to get quick approval from the Federal Fisheries Ministry in order to get things underway as soon as possible.
He says this has been a very long and arduous process over the course of the past six or seven years deciding who’s responsible for what… and they’ll be glad to finally get it behind them this year.
Eccles says they hope to announce the winning tender this afternoon.
