Shave-offs across Grey and Bruce have raised thousands and thousands of dollars for cancer research.
This years total for the 12th annual Cops for Cancer event has come in at 187 thousand dollars.
Canadian Cancer Society Fundraising Co-ordinator Jennifer Wright says the fundraising seems to be on par with last year, but adds more money is pouring in.
She says there are still a few more shave-off events to take place in Paisley, Markdale and at Alexandra School.
Wright says Grey and Bruce is the only Cancer Society within the province who designates its cops for cancer funds to paediatric cancer.
She says there are 25 children in the Grey and Bruce area who are currently using the Canadian Cancer Society services.
Wright says it takes a lot of courage for people to step up and shave off their hair for the cause.
She adds there is growing support for the event, adding more businesses and communities are hosting their own shave-off’s.
