Construction on the brand new Neustadt hall gets underway later this week.
West Grey Mayor Kevin Eccles says they had four good bids but the tender went to local construction firm Domm Construction.
Eccles says because they’re local..they were able to come in about 100 thousand dollars under the original estimate at 950 thousand dollars.
The new hall will include seating capacity for 250, a full commercial kitchen, new washroom facilities for the ball diamond as well as an indoor and outdoor bar area for tournament.
Construction is supposed to wrap up by early December and Eccles says their first official event will be the Neustadt New Year’s Eve Dance.
