Organizers are getting ready for the Rotary Huron Shores Run in Southampton.
The 20th annual event for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation goes tomorrow with a goal this year of 25 thousand dollars.
It begins at the Walker House at 10am with registration beforehand.
Last year the event raised 24 thousand 700 dollars towards the purchase new equipment at the hospital.
Rotary members and run co-chairs Jacalene Scott and Eric Burton recently appeared on Soundingboard to promote the run.
The course starts at the Walker House and goes down along High Street around the big flag, then south on Huron Street down to the 10th Concession.
Burton says the route originally went passed the 10th Concession but was shortened because they had traffic issues in that area.
He says the turn around point of the 10-kilometre route is now at the 10th Concession.
Scott says you don’t have to be dedicated runner to participate in the event.
She says everyone can either walk, run, or rollerblade in the event.
Scott says there are also teams participating in the run.
She says it is a way for people who don’t often run to get out and feel good and confident of themselves.
Burton says there will be prizes handed out at the run.
