The Kincardine Theatre Guild opens a new show today, with a couple of awards under its belt.
Recently the Guild took part in a Theatre Ontario competition.
Kincardine President Shirley Bieman says Director Carol LeNester won the outstanding newcomer off stage award.
Alana Boucher was nominated for outstanding female actor on stage and while she did not win, she did receive a special adjudicators award for role as Libby Tucker in “I Ought To Be in Pictures”.
Linda Pagnotta was nominated as best newcomer, but did not win.
Bieman says May 16th, her troops were judged from the moment they started setting up to the minute they walked off the stage following their performance.
Kincardine competed against Sault Saint Marie, Peterborough and Markham at the event.
John P. Kelly was the Theatre Ontario adjudicator.
Tonight, the players begin a new play, Hamish; a comedy set in Scotland, directed by Bieman.
It’s playing at the Kincardine Centre For The Arts.
