Kincardine and Tiverton are not taking part in the Communities in Bloom competition this year.
The move saves money for the two communities; as judges don’t have to be fed and housed.
They are however still a under the umbrella of the CIB, in the “Friends” category.
This means the two areas can compete again, by holding their positions and current status, and don’t have to start all over again when they do compete.
Kincardine has an International CIB title; Tiverton a national one.
CIB is a Canadian non-profit organization.
It is committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program.
Both Tiverton and Kincardine plan to compete next year and will combine efforts to do so when entering the provincial competition.
