Peddling for heart and stroke.
The Big Bike for Heart and Stroke rolled through Owen Sound Saturday, to wrap up its tour across Grey and Bruce Counties.
Owen Sound resident Rose Heathers says the cause is near and dear to her.
Heathers says her husband has had a heart condition his whole life and had a heart transplant two years ago.
She says he is now doing really, really well.
Heathers has ridden the Big Bike every year for almost 15 years.
Heathers and the Wal Mart team raised over 5 thousand dollars for the cause.
She says its always a competition to see who can raise the most.
Heathers says its great to take part in the Big Bike event — adding she would like to see more people and businesses help support and raise awareness for the organization.
This year’s goal for the Big Bike for Heart and Stroke is 75 thousand dollars.
Last year, the Big Bike ride generated about 68 thousand dollars for heart and stroke research.
