The New Steelback Brewery is officially open for business.
Steelback has spent the last 5 months making many changes to it’s brand from packaging to it’s beer.
CEO and Owner Johnathan Sherman says their beer labels now have local scenery of Bruce County on it as they are trying to get a image of being a small craft brewery.
Sherman says their beers are now all in brown bottles because it helps protect against sunlight to give it a longer shelf life.
Steelback has also reduced it’s brand of beers from 11 to 5.
President Ian MacDonald says they established that managing 11 beers was way too much and the 5 current brands will not only appeal to their current marketing base but will also attract new ones.
The 5 beers from Steelback are: Premium Lager, Tiverton Dark, Tiverton Honey Brown, Premium Draft and Light.
MacDonald says they have began focusing on advertising their new image throughout Bruce County as well trying to get their beer on tap at as many restaurants and bars in the county as they can.
MacDonald says after Bruce County, they will work on advertising in the top 5 selling beer markets, London, Hamilton, Toronto, Ottawa and Windsor.
MacDonald says in the end there was nothing wrong with the beer it was just the way it was delivered to the market.
