Sauble Beach businesses were fighting the weather all weekend.
Rain, wind and cool temperatures prevented beachgoers from fully enjoying the first unofficial start to summer.
Manager of the Cabana Beach House, Mike Graham says the numbers were good, but feels they could have been better.
He says the businesses depend on good weather to bring the tourists to the Beach.
Despite the rain and cool temperatures, many businesses were reporting strong sales, especially for sweaters and long pants.
Myra Legge of the Wave Shop says the cooler weather is sometimes a blessing in disguise.
She says it brings more people into the stores, who otherwise would have spent more time on the beach.
Many businesses are also concerned about high gas prices this summer, which will negatively impact the number of tourists coming to the region.
Legge says the gas prices will make it more challenging, adding she has already heard plenty of complaints about the cost of fuel.
