The McGuinty government has announced funding for low income residents in Grey and Bruce Counties.
The province is investingĀ five million dollars in rent banks to help more families stay in their homes.
Grey County will receive more than 22 thousand dollars and Bruce County will receive almost 12 thousand dollars.
Simcoe County will receive more than 333 thousand dollars.
Huron Bruce Liberal MPP Carol Mitchell says more people will be able to benefit from the investment.
She notes people having difficulty paying their rent can access the bank once a year.
Mitchell recognizes there needs to be more affordable housing available but she adds there also needs to be short term solutions too.
She says the rent banks are designed for just that.
Tenants can apply for financial assistance form a Rent Bank no more than once in two years.
