Some 60 bus drivers in the Owen Sound area have a new 3 year deal with “First Student Laidlaw School bus”. (Formerly Laidlaw Transit)
Local 4268 CAW President Len Poirier says a tenative contract settlement was accepted by the union members in a ratification vote last night (Monday) in Owen Sound.
Workers voted 60 percent in favour of the agreement, which is retroactive to last September.
The three year contract runs until September 2010 and Poirier says wages will increase between 8.5% and 16% over the three years.
The difference in the wage increases depend on the classification of the workers.
