“Respecting differences and celebrating diversity through education.”
That’s the theme of the 6th annual Multicultural Day in Kincardine being observed tonight.
Organizer Chandra Tripathi, on Soundingboard yesterday, says the event takes place at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine with 39 booths representing 30 countries around the world.
Tripathi says there will be plenty of costumes, heritage, history and of course, food.
He says food really does cross the ethnic difference as everyone is interested in trying out the food from other countries.
Tripathi says, being a native of India, but living in Canada for the past 14-years has made him appreciate Canada as a land of opportunity.
He believes everyone can work, live and succeed together, no matter what ethnicity is present.
He says respecting others is really respecting yourself.
Multicultural Day at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine begins at 5:30 this afternoon and continues to 8:30 tonight.
It’s free to everyone.
