Westario Power will soon need a new Chief Executive Officer.
Current CEO Guy Cluff is retiring at the end of July, and re-locating towards the Ottawa area.
Cluff plans to spend time enjoying a life long hobby of making furniture and cabinets.
He hopes to spend more time with family, including his three grandchildren, and travel as well.
Cluff has been with Westario since December of 2000.
Looking back on his almost eight years as CEO, Cluff says there have been many rewarding challenges.
One of those includes putting together the 8 former municipal utilities, serving 15 communities in the area.
Cluff says preparing for and making it through the opening of Ontario’s new electricity market, moving from a traditional to a deregulated one was certainly a challenge as well.
Cluff has told the board there is some flexibility to his final date, depending on how quickly the Board of Directors is able to replace his position.
It is up to the Board of Directors to take that next step.
Westario services 21 thousand customers including the areas of Saugeen Shores, Kincardine, Hanover, Walkerton, Clifford, Elmwood, Mildmay, Lucknow, Teeswater, Neustadt, Ripley, Wingham, Harriston, and Palmerston.
