The Real Estate market appears to be slowing down in the Grey-Bruce area.
Figures from the Realtors association show the total value of properties sold in the first 3 months of the year came in at just over 40 million dollars.
That is down about 3% from a year ago and Real Estate agents report fewer people looking to buy this spring.
The number of homes sold in the first quarter fell by about 6%… but despite the slowdown in total sales the average price for a home sold in Grey and Bruce counties is up.
It now sits at 210 thousand dollars… which is up by nearly 6% from the same time a year ago.
President of the Realtors association of Grey Bruce-Owen Sound, Dave Cheer says homes priced between 150 and 250 thousand dollars are the most popular.
In the city of Owen Sound alone, the average price is just 191 thousand dollars… which is up about 2% from the level at the end of March last year.
