Residents in Saugeen Shores continue to play the waiting game when it comes to a decision about WalMart setting up shop in at the south end of Port Elgin. The municipality had earlier thought one would be made by the Ontario Municipal Board in February. The issue has been in their hands since a pre-hearing was held back in February of 2007. OMB Spokesperson Karen Kotzen says 80 per cent of decisions are made within 45 days of the final hearing. Kotzen admits, sometimes it can take much longer for one to be reached, and that the waiting residents, as well as the municipality is doing, is not unusual. Once a decision has been made, it will be posted on the OMB website within two business days. Kotzen could not comment or speculate when a decision will come. Hearings were held last fall, with arguments from both sides of the issue.
