Students at Chesley District High School are kicking off their Cougar Care Campaign today.
Chair Chris Evans says an assembly is being held regarding this year’s events.
He says the Canadian Cancer Society is at the school along with the OPP to talk about the Cops For Cancer event.
Evans says they are combining their Spring Festival on May 5th with a shave off.
Evans says the day will also include a track and field meet, face painting, a walk and other fun events for the students to take part in.
Evans says this year’s Cops for Cancer Fundraising goal is six thousand dollars.
He expects to surpass that goal however, due to the generosity of those within the school and the community.
Once that goal is reached, 15 students and 5 staff members will shave their heads.
Other students are colouring their hair, or having their legs waxed.
