  1. The Colpoy's Bay WI is happy to present musical artist Kim Beggs in concert. Saturday, April 11th. Doors open at 6:30pm, concert begins at 7:00pm Tickets are $25 and are available through TicketScene (https://www.ticketscene.ca/events/57940/) or by contacting the Colpoy's Bay Women's Institute (colpoysbaywi@gmail.com, 519-534-3001) Kim Beggs’ honest, distinct and ethereal vocal approach - whispered remembrances, intimacies and strong empathy - is the conduit between introspective, poetic compositions and deliberately sparse arrangements, bringing to the mind the varied approaches of Neil Young and Nick Drake. Invoking her ability to weave informed observations into compelling songs replete with imagery and figurative allusions, Kim Biggs brings her perspectives to heartfelt vignettes with a liberating freedom of self-expression which married language to melody as few folk singers do, exploring traditional structures while establishing an amplifying her approach to modern, folk-based Americana. She embodies the personas of her characters - a trucker, Mother Earth, or a lover and strips the artifice, exposes life’s harsh backbone and , just before things get too bleak, she’ll “fill your little tin cup with some stuff”.
